Fulbright Fellowships
The United States Congress, with the aid of Senator J. William Fulbright created the Fulbright program in 1946 following the end of WWII. The purpose of the Fulbright Awards Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills, and to provide U.S. students with the opportunity for professional development and international experience.

Deadlines: Fulbright applications are due on campus over a year before the actual grant commences, interested students should plan accordingly.
For the 2010-2011 academic year:
- Drafts Due: August 3, 2009
For undergraduate mandatory drafts of the project proposal and personal statement are due via email to M. Mohamed. Optional for graduate students. However, if graduate students and alumni wish to have their drafts read, they must meet this deadline as well. - Internal Application Deadline for all undergraduates and graduate students: September 11, 2009. No Georgetown applications will be accepted after this date. We will be unable to accommodate such requests due to our planned interview schedule.
- Campus Fulbright Committee interviews: Last week of September- First week of October 2009
- External Application Deadline: October 19, 2009
