Beinecke Scholarship Program
The Beinecke Scholarship Program ( www.beineckescholarship.org ) is open to juniors who are U.S. citizens planning to continue their studies at the graduate level. Students who plan to pursue a graduate degree in the arts, humanities, or social sciences are eligible. Students awarded the scholarship receive $2,000 upon completion of their undergraduate studies, and a $15,000 stipend for each of two years in graduate school for a total of $32,000.
Requirements:
- Superior academic record and ability (above or approaching 3.9)
- Evidence of need-based financial aid during undergraduate studies.
Georgetown University Application Process:
Submit the following items to the Office of University Fellowships:
- Three- to four-page autobiography
- 1,000 word personal statement
- Your current Curriculum Vitae
- An official transcript
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty members that assess your intellectual curiosity, character and potential for advanced graduate study.
A University Committee will review the applications and nominate one candidate. Please contact Ms. Maryam Mohamed for further information, and to obtain an application form.
Georgetown University Deadline:
- January 26, 2009 for the 2009-2010 award.
- January 25, 2010 for the 2010-2011 award.
