Applying for Nomination

A number of the fall fellowships including the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell and Churchill require that students first apply for university endorsement in order to apply for the actual fellowship.  This is a fundamental step for anyone seeking university nomination.
List of Fellowships which Require University Nomination
  • Joseph L. Allbritton Scholarship
    The Allbritton Scholarship, established in 1984 is awarded to one Georgetown student for two years of post-baccalaureate study in any academic program offered at Brasenose College, University of Oxford.
  • Beinecke Scholarship Program
    The Beinecke Scholarship Program is open to juniors who are U.S. citizens planning to continue their studies at the graduate level. Applicants must be receiving financial aid as undergraduates.
  • Winston Churchill Scholarships
    Established in 1959, the Churchill Scholarship Program is open to seniors of exceptional ability and promise who wish to pursue graduate work in engineering, mathematics and sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge University.
  • Fulbright Fellowships
    Senator J. William Fulbright created the Fulbright program in 1946 to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries. The Fulbright sends over 1000 students to over 140 countries world wide each year to execute carefully designed research proposals.
  • Healy Scholarship
    The Timothy S. Healy Scholarship was established in 1989 to commemorate the university presidency of Fr. Timothy S. Healy, S.J. The Healy is open to students majoring in fields connected to Father Healy's own scholarly interests: Classics, Theology, and Literary Study.
  • The Dolores Zohrab Leibmann Fund
    The Leibmann Fund provides Fellowships, up to $18,000/year, for students pursuing graduate studies (including law and medicine) at U.S. Institutions.
  • Luce Scholars Program
    The Luce Scholars Program provides stipends and internships for eighteen young Americans to live and work in East and Southeast Asia each year.
  • British Marshall Scholarships
    Marshall Scholarships are awarded by the British Council to 40 American students for two years of post-graduate study in the United Kingdom.
  • George J. Mitchell Scholarship
    The George J. Mitchell Scholarships seek to foster ties between the US and Ireland. Winners study for one year at the Irish University of their choice.
  • The Presidential Fellows Program
    The Center for the Study of the Presidency sees fellows who are committed to public service and interested in studying the issues that affect the modern American presidency.
  • Rhodes Scholarships
    The Rhodes Scholarship was founded in the early twentieth century by Cecil Rhodes to promote international understanding and peace. The Rhodes Trust offers 32 scholarships per year for study at Oxford University.
  • St. Andrew's Society for Graduate Study in Scotland
    The St. Andrew's Society has provided over 150 graduate scholarships  to promote cultural interchange and goodwill between Scotland and the United States since 1960.
  • Truman Scholarships
    The Truman Scholarship was founded in 1975 by the United States Govenment to honor our 33rd President Harry S. Truman to promote public service. There are roughly 80 awards per year.
  • Morris K. Udall Scholarships
    The Morris K. Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide range of environmental fields.  This merit scholarships is open to sophomore or junior level college students as well Native American and Alaskan native students who are interested in public policy and Native health care.
