Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions:
-
Q: I am interested in getting more information on scholarships and fellowships. How should I start?
Students interested in the process should begin by closely examining the fellowships and scholarships described on this site. Most scholarships listed also have links to sites sponsored by the scholarships themselves. Students should carefully read all the materials available to them. If students have questions about the materials or about their own eligibility, they should contact Maryam N. Mohamed for more information or clarification.
-
Q: How far in advance should I start my application and the application process?
It is expected that students will begin working on their applications at least six months ahead of the final scholarship deadline. Students will often work the office on their applications, writing samples, resumes etc. Additionally, most scholarships require institutional endorsement. It should be expressly noted that last minute applications cannot and will not be accepted.
-
Q: I'm interested in more than one scholarship. How many can I apply to?
There is no limit to how many scholarships a student can apply to. Indeed, it is often advantageous for the student to apply to numerous scholarships within his or her area(s) of interest.
-
Q: I've already graduated from Georgetown. Am I still eligible to apply?
For almost all of the scholarships, yes. Please read each scholarship's requirements and guidelines carefully, however, and contact Maryam N. Mohamed with any questions you may have about your eligibility.
