Anna Klis

klisAnna Klis currently hails from The Woodlands, Texas, though she has lived in four other states. She expects to graduate a year early, with the School of Foreign Service class of 2010. She is majoring in International Economics, with a focus on Theory and Policy. Her interests in the field include focused study of theory as well as practical applications of game theory, changing incentives, behavioral models, and mechanism design. After graduation, Anna hopes to study economics at the graduate level either in Poland or the United States.

Anna works as a Teaching Assistant for the Economics Department, so far having taught recitations for Microeconomic Principles, Macroeconomic Principles, and Microeconomic Theory. She is a member of the steering committee for the Carroll Round, a conference on undergraduate research in international economics. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Carroll Round Proceedings, the journal published by the Carroll Round.

This summer, Anna was the Program Director for the Learning Enterprises program in Poland, organizing and preparing 16 volunteers for four weeks of teaching English to children in rural Polish areas. In 2008 she taught with the program, and this year she will continue as the Country Coordinator, organizing the participating schools. As the daughter of Polish immigrants, Anna is fluent in Polish and highly interested in continuing her contribution to this fantastic organization. Anna can also speak Spanish and has begun studying French as well.
