Preparing to Excel

The Preparing to Excel (PEP) Program focuses on those newly admitted students who are most anxious about the experience of entering a new fast-paced university environment. Combining workshops, group exercises, role playing, simulations and trips around Georgetown and Washington DC, PEP will equip students with reliable strategies for achieving excellence in all areas of their college experience.

When: Tuesday 8/25-Friday 8/28 2009
Where: Georgetown Campus, with excursions into D.C.
Who: 28 students, 14 upper-class student mentors
Why: Acclimating to GU & Preparing to Excel at the University

Last year's participants said:

"[PEP] just overall helped me get a better fell of how things work here. It's important for people to know who to talk to in order to get what they want. I feel like PEP gave me that knowledge."

"I liked being able to move in a week early, to get acquainted with the campus and resources and surrounding area before the chaos of move-in-week. I felt that the most valuable thing PEP had to offer was bonding with the student leaders, and getting a feel for what life at Georgetown will be like academically and socially."
