CFI Requirements

The Carroll Fellows Initiative covers seven semesters. The program begins in the spring semester of the freshman year with the Carroll Forum, which resumes in the fall semester of the sophomore year. It culminates in the senior year with the completion of a Major Research Project and service in the Forum as a Teaching Assistant. Throughout this time Fellows pursue intellectual interests and build community through their work in Carroll Clusters. Students are also required to produce a Process Plan at the beginning of each academic year.

All Fellows, like all undergraduates at Georgetown, are bound by the University’s Honor System and disciplinary code. Fellows are expected to maintain the highest levels of personal and academic integrity. Fellows who fail to maintain such standards will be asked to leave the Initiative.

While many Fellows participate in study-abroad programs during their junior year, they are encouraged to participate in research opportunities, such as GUROP-Abroad, keep in close contact with their Carroll Clusters, and are required to complete their yearly Process Plan.
